Duty Rota
Introduction
We have a dedicated engineer to answer queries in the #ask-modernisation-platform Slack channel and to respond to high priority incidents during the day.
Other engineers may also complete any of these activities at any time; all team members are encouraged to help where they can.
Overview
- Purpose: Dedicate an engineer to answer queries and respond to high-priority incidents
- Channel: #ask-modernisation-platform
- Support Hours: 9am-4pm (may extend based on engineer's workday)
Rota Management
- Team members self-assign rota days
- Rota is visible here
- Avoid rota duty if day is full of meetings or other commitments
- Maximum 3 days per sprint for any individual
- Communicate absences for coverage
Responsibilities

| Respond to Security Hub alerts raised #modernisation-platform-sec-hub-high-alerts channel | Follow the Security Hub Slack Alertsrunbook for guidance. |
| Monitor Github Code Scanning Alerts | Review issues raised by the Code Scanners and either resolve or raise a new issue. |
| Review AWS Health issues | Monitor team inbox for emails. Create backlog issues as needed. |

| Address hard-coded account IDs | Inform customers when hard-coded account IDs are detected in modernisation-platform-environments secret scanning alerts, then close off alert. |
| Address SCA issues from daily scan | Results of the secure code analysis action are posted to the #modernisation-platform Slack channel. |
| Post "Question of the Day" | Post a question of the day! |
| Review and fix GitHub code scanning issues | Regular code scans report issues into the Security tab in each Modernisation Platform repository. Review and fix. |
| Review issues in For Review state | Check issues on Modernisation Platform GitHub repository and see if they meet the Definition of Done before moving them to Done. |
Restrictions
- No assigned ticket work to be undertaken while on rota duty
- Engineers should not feel under pressure to work on sprint tasks while providing support
Team Collaboration
- All team members encouraged to help with these activities when possible
